SUPPORTED LIVING
For some time New Directions have been looking at the feasibility of supporting persons with Prader Willi Syndrome in the Supported Living environment.
Following much discussion at senior management level we have registered a domiciliary support service with the Care Quality Commission. The manager of the service is Mandy Gates who is the registered manager of Bishops Lodge.
We have written to our local authority East Sussex County Council with regards to working in partnership with them.
Should a working partnership be agreed with the local authority, we will pilot a scheme of supporting two service users in conjunction with a landlord who will supply an assured tenancy agreement to the persons with PWS and New Directions supply the support hours.
The support package will be individualised. It will reflect the support needed in relation to the issues around PWS.
This scheme is still in the very early stages of development. We will update this page when we further developments.
